Ten was born in Bangkok, Thailand, on February 27, 1996 to a Thai Chinese family. Ten won the Thai television show Teen Superstar in 2010 and earned the opportunity to sign a contract with Starship Entertainment, but ultimately refused. In 2013, he joined SM Entertainment through their global auditions. He studied at Shrewsbury International School.
