Is Paris’ dream of having a fashion line right up there with her dream of having her own reality show? her own horror movie? Her own drunk driving escapade/rehab/jail stint? Sex tape? Whatever her true motivation for launching a new clothing line (dollar signs anyone?), she’s sure to do it up, Paris-style, just like she has with all of the above-mentioned forays.
The socialite launched her line this month at the trendy L.A. staple of the young, hot, rich and famous: Kitson. One major, notable difference between the launch and the beginning to some of Paris’ other “stunts” - this was one part fashion show, sure. But probably more notably - one part charity event.

Maybe this design dream is more than a flash in the pan for Paris who told E! News that she’s been working on her line for the past year, since she’s always loved “being in fashion, designing, and being creative.” It’s not that hard to believe, coming from the starlet known (among many other things, of course) for her interesting, iconic style. It isn’t always spot-on cute or classy, but a Paris style sure is easy to spot. And as part of the young Hollywood elite, that may be better than class.
The sparkly dress Paris wore for the launch will no doubt take off - and at $128, it’s not too much of a stretch, price-wise. But it probably won’t top the previous - though less official - debut of her line. This time, her denim design. She wore a pair of self-designed jeans for her well-photographed release from jail.
The rest of the line might not get you as much paparazzi play as those photo-immortalized pants, but at least you’ll sort of be able toafford to suit up like Paris, if you so desire. T-shirts average $34. (Keep in mind, most of the shirts have Paris’ face splashed across the front - in which case we feel she should pay US $34 for wearing them.) Denim is around $88, while coats and dresses retail for $68 and above.

“I just wanted to make clothes that were comfortable and fun,” Paris added. And to make sure the the fun continues, additional pieces from the line are due to be released next month.
And yes - it was actually a charity event. Proceeds from the special shopping event went toward Hilton’s charity of choice, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, where Paris has done volunteer work since being released from prison - part of her new, squeaky-clean image. And in true celeb do-gooder form she said she believes “if everyone does their part, we can really make a difference.”
