The costume designer for Gossip Girl, Eric Daman is working to put together display windows at the Henri Bendel store which will mirror the characters’ wardrobes and looks on the show.

He’s slated to use brands like Anna Sui, Peter Som and Gryphon to re-create each Gossip Girl in mannequin forms.

Later in the month, the store will hold a preview party for the life-sized “dolls” when the main actresses like Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Taylor Momsen and Jessic Szhor from the show are expected to attend.

Kanye West is hardly recognizable under all his scruff as he made his way to the recording studio in LA yesterday, LV backpack on hand.

Usually, he looks much more clean-cut - sans beard and with shorter hair. Maybe he was trying to build a bit of a disguise for himself … which obviously didn’t work!
He hasn’t revealed what he’s back in the studio to work on, but he DID mention that his newest venture will involve opening up a chain of FatBurger restaurants in his hometown of Chicago. Interesting.

 Andre 300 - aka Andre Benjamin - is going to be launching his new menswear line, Benjamin Bixby, during fashion week next month. And he’s got plenty of famous friends on-hand to help him celebrate.

Charlize Theron and her BF Stewart Townsend are scheduled to throw a party for him at Barneys during fashion week. The sioree will kick off the store’s exclusive on the rapper’s menswear line, and will most likely be followed by an “intimate” dinner for friends of the new fashion star. We’re not sure what “intimate” means, but by Hollywood standards, we’re guessing it’ll be more read more ....

 We doubt that they’re paying an homage to the origin of this month’s Olympic games, and rather giving props to the runways of the fashion world - starlets are going ga-ga for Greece. Actresses like Alexis Bledel at the premier of her movie, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants II, along with well-known faces like Liv Tyler, Blake Lively, and Maria Bello have turned to toga-inspired, one-shouldered dresses.

And we can’t forget the now-so-famous gladiator sandal. Whether in heel or flat, brights or metallics, this auspicious footwear makes the look all that much more legit.

I have always been a fan of short hair, and if there’s anyone who can pull off the lopped-locks look, it would be gorgeous Rihanna, but I gotta say - I wish she would stop cutting already!

She’s kept the long-ish bangs in front but it sees like the keeps chopping at the sides until now she’s got an over-the-ear pixie thing going on.

Like I said - if anyone can make it look good, Rihanna can, but I really liked when she made the drastic change from long tresses to an extreme bob. Maybe she felt like everyone was read more ....

Things are going well for Ms. Cruz. The Spanish fashion chain Mango decided tos tick with its celeb design team of Penelope and her sister Monica. The company also re-upped photographers  Mert Alas and  Marcus Piggott to shoot the collection’s campaign again, making it the fourth season the duo has shot the images for the Penélope & Mónica Cruz for MNG line. These photogs were also the behind the camera lens for the Elizabeth Hurley for Mango campaign, which launched in early summer.

Penelope Cruz was a vision in black on the red carpet at the New York screening of her movie Elegy wearing Chanel Couture. Pen always looks gorgeous, but the all blank ensemble was particularly smashing - we love the sexy bustier-style top which is revealing but not slutty. The military-inspired jacket adds the “tough” edge to the look with a lot of structure and tons of buttons.

And her stylish yet somber look fits with the theme and title of the movie. I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure of the meaning of the word “elegy,” so I looked it up and Wikipedia read more ....

 In the world of ever-changing celeb tastes, where stars are frequently seen in multiple outfits in one day, where you can be the season’s “it” cover girl then go directly to dancing with the stars, having staying power of more than a decade is impressive.

We’ve mentioned various fashion happenings related to the Olympics: Armani dressing athletes, Nike creating a special suit. But this is quite an amazing sight:

The hundreds of athletes making up Team USA marched together in matching blue blazers by Ralph Lauren, emblazoned with oversized Polo ponies, off-white trousers, broadcloth shirts, white twill newsboy caps and striped silk neckwear - men wore ties and the women wore scarves.
