Have we found a replacement for Princess Diana?

The position for ‘saint’ has been vacant for just over ten years now following the death of Princess Diana, and it looks like Naomi Campbell might be vying for the title by submitting her resume (CV in the UK) for the job.

‘Our Lady’ of humanity and caring - and of course the champion cell phone thrower - has jumped into the fray after floods ravaged central England during the summer leaving 7 people dead. Along with her ‘model’ friends, Elle MacPherson, Yasmin Le Bon and Jodie Kidd, Naomi has launched ‘Fashion for Relief’.

With a large percent of the UK population declaring that they don’t consider Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham, Kate Middleton, or Madonna as replacements for Diana it would appear the position is wide open to just about anyone who adopts a child, marries a football superstar, or dates a member of the British Royal family.

I guess we’ll see the halo-bearing Miss Campbell shaking hands with AIDS victims and tippy-toeing through landmines on her Jimmy Choo heels in the very near future.

The show will take place at the Natural History Museum in London on September 20, at the end of London Fashion Week. At 37 years of age, and still modeling, maybe Naomi should think about taking up residency at the museum too!
