Should Sen. Barack Obama spend less time on the campaign trail and more time at … Wal-Mart?! Could the middle-America bastion of retail cheap be a predictor for the way of the nation in November? A recent poll by BIGresearch showed that, of 5,055 Wal-Mart shoppers surveyed, 41.4 percent said they would vote for Sen. John McCain while 33.3 percent favored Obama.

The percentage splits were similar for shoppers at Kohl’s and J.C. Penney, who also favored McCain.

However, McCain could perhaps benefit from some stops at higher-end stores like Macy’s and cheap-chic Target store parking lots, where he trails read more ....
