In an interview with Christina Ricci for BlackBook that is on stands this week, reporter George Gurley made a mistake no journalist should be allowed to make in the age of Google, Yahoo, 24 hour news and ’round-the-calendar ad campaigns and runway shows. When talking with the actress, he asked her what is was like being the face of Louis Vuitton. It seems that Ricci took the question in stride, answering, “Well, I’m not anymore. I was one of four actresses that they used in a campaign once and it was really fun. I liked it. I would like to be the face of Louis Vuitton. I am not, however. You know who is? Scarlett Johansson is the face of Louis Vuitton. Wrong interview.”
And, since it IS the age of Google, unfortunately for the reporter, everyone can know about his slip-up with a click of a mouse.
Ricci was one of the faces of the campaign, along with Diane Krueger, Chloé Sevigny, and Scarlett Johansson in fall of 2004. The campaign showed off - along with the label’s clothes - shoes and handbags as well.
