It’s a rare occasion when a fashion critic such as myself can find nothing bad to say about virtually any of the red carpet pics from an event, but that was the case with the fashion choices made this week at the screening of Valentino: The Last Emperor at the Venice Film Festival.
The event brought out the likes of Claire Danes on the arm of Hugh Dancy, Charlize Theron, Elizabeth Hurley posing with Valentino, and Diane Kruger - but without Josh Jackson.
Each lovely lady lived up to her star status by showing off her fashion chops. We love read more ....

She’s a fashion icon and she wears ensembles like this:
OK, she does more than wear them, she actually pulls them off! She donned a black, satin, boatnecked jumper - that’s right, a formal jumpsuit! - while out to dinner at Ithaca restaurant in Manchester, England.
My mom once had a heinous jumpsuit in the ’80s, but it was nothing like this, so maybe i’ll have to rethink the whole pants-and-top-as-one idea.
Then again, Posh Spice is probably the only person in the WORLD who could pull this off. And we love it!

We love Jessica Simpson, but are NOT fans of this somewhat unflattering plaid table cloth-esque ensemble.
I couldn’t really TELL you what’s wrong with it. Is it that the strapless bodice sits too far down and makes her look … saggy? Is it the multiple layers of plaid? Is it the overly-trendy sandals paired with a country dress? Is it all of these things? Maybe. Which is too bad because I’m sure she did a good job during her performance
at Niagara Falls Fallsview Casino. (Yes, I’m serious.)

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden definitely looked put-together while out shopping for a house in the Hollywood Hills yesterday.
But almost TOO put-together. I know, I know, I’m turning into one of those people who criticize celebs no matter what they do, which isn’t fair because the couple really do look cute together, and we LOVE Nicole’s flirty summery outfit - though very few people could actually pull off that headband.

We just love how Fashion Weeks all over the globe are a time to see and be seen - which means they draw out the rich, famous, and well-dressed. Not that a well-to-do designer like Carl Lagerfeld or a celeb style designer like Gwen Stefani or Nikki Hilton would need it, but they’re eligible for a free ride during fashion week, courtesy of Cole Haan.

Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend were looking matchy-matchy (but not in an obnoxious way) and well put-together for the Denver premier of their movie, Battle Seattle.
We love the similarly-themed black blazers and Stuart’s skinny tie paired with over-sized aviators. He looks so hipster-chic!
And of course Charlize was a vision in a flouncy summer dress - accessorized minimally with beaded bracelets and necklace and of course - glam movie star sunglasses.

This bit of publicity has little to do with Michael Phelps’ swimming ability and much to do with his mom. She apparently stocked up on some clothes at a Chico’s boutique prior to the Games, and once the brand caught wind of this, they just had to milk it for all it was worth.
Chico’s website showcases “The Debbie Phelps Collection,” an assortment of her travel pieces, including the ensemble she wore for a Johnson & Johnson commercial that debuted Sunday night during the closing ceremonies.
What’s odd is that Chico’s does not have a formal agreement with her, but that may read more ....

Check out these pictures! Joshua Jackson has come a long way from his somewhat-dorky Dawson’s Creek days - but then, we were all kinda dorky back then.
He credits his style makover to his new (Euro) girlfriend, saying, ” When you’re dating a European woman, the slovenly way of dressing will not do. But the reality is, I’ve also grown up a lot in the last five years, and not getting dressed up is partly teenage rebellion. I obviously held on to that for too long.

We love it when a male celeb does something worthy of a fashion-related headline. Not that we aren’t huge fans of the sports ladies’ red carpet looks, such as Amanda Beard and Gabrielle Reece, but it’s not as often that a guy steps up to the plate, and so we pay special attention when they do.
In this case, the “plate” in question is really a tennis court, as athlete Andy Roddick was on-hand at Macy’s in New York for the launching of the look he will be wearing at this year’s U.S. Open.
