Christian Siriano – the winner of last season’s Project Runway – is making quite a name for himself. Or at least trying to. He told Allure magazine he’s trying to get away from his image as PR designer and “fierce” celeb, and make his way to legit, respected fashion designer.

“I really do want to follow in the footsteps of designers like Rodarte and Proenza Schouler,” he says.

All you Avril Lavigne fans out there – only two-and-a-half more weeks to go. If you’re a TRUE Avril fan you’ll know what I’m talking about. The rock/pop-ster is getting ready to launch her forray into the fashion world, Abbey Dawn, because after all, doesn’t EVERY singer have to be a singer/fashion designer?

Her line sounds somewhat predictable – t-shirts, hoodies, all things rocker chic. No word yet on if she’s including a fuschia-streaked wig in that collection, but we’d totally love it if she did. THAT would be something to make her stand out from other starts-turned-fashionistas.

We’re sure that there will be many makeup mad girlies out there who will welcome the arrival this summer of the vibrating mascara, but we’re also sure that many women, like Samantha from Sex and the City, played by Kim Cattrall, will still prefer their vibrating accessories to be strictly for use in the bedroom and between the sheets and not on their eye lashes.

In spite of her, shall we say, faux pas in China concerning her comments about flood victims - which prompted Dior to drop her from their ad campaign in the country - things are looking up for the actress.
Italian jeweler, Damiani opened a boutique on Rodeo drive, announcing none other than Ms. Stone as the face of its new international print ad campaign.
The color images feature Stone in poses inspired by iconic women such as Amelia Earhart.

Naomi Campbell won’t be heading to jail. The model managed to worm her way out of a stay in the big house yet again, following her outburst on a British Airways flight at London’s Heathrow Airport in April.
She plead guilty to the charges - including two charges of assaulting a police officer - and was given a community order to perform 200 hours of unpaid work, alongside being ordered to pay fines, compensation charges and prosecution costs totaling $5,420. Which, if you think about it, is probably actually less than a day’s work for the supermodel.

Philip Lim opened his first store in LA last week – and, as with just about any fashion-related opening, it brought out a number of Hollywood’s hottest young stars.

Emmy Rossum dressed up her yummy, summery yellow with a key black belt and peep-toe heels. Jennifer Morrison arrived in all black – which seems a bit much for a warm, summer afternoon, but Kate Walsh lightened it up with an airy, floaty dress, also cinched at the waist. The pattern isn’t amazing but the style and texture is easy, breezy.

We love fashion, and we love it when kids – especially, stars’ kids –start to show their own sense of mini-style.

Of course, it could just be an outgrowing of their parents’ style, but we love it none the less. Last week, Deacon Phillippe, stepped out with mamma Resse Witherspoon after spending some time with his dad, Ryan Phillippe – and, it looks like, picking up a bit of his style, as well!

He’s taking a page from his mom’s book when it comes to philanthropy professed on his shirt: World Peace Please.

The models whose work helped coin the term “super model” will be back - and as super as ever.

Miuccia Prada released a preview of her fall Prada campaign to Women’s Wear Daily, featuring Linda Evangelista dressed in a collection strong on lace and sly gender plays. Says Prade: “We imagined her so beautiful in this collection.” Kind of an ironic statement given that the girl is a SUPER-model. Doesn’t seem like you have to imagine much of anything in order for Evangelista to look beautiful.  The campaign will first appear in the August issue of Vogue Italia, on newsstands read more ....

You may have found some locals standing in line along side the snaking crowds waiting to get into the Empire State Building’s Observation Deck on Thursday - because the reward for the wait was more than just views of the city. Rihanna was waiting at the top, as part of Cartier’s promotion of Love Day - the singer helped Cartier CEO switch the lights on the building to red in honor of the day.
