So Everyone’s a Fashion Superstar?

Posted under fashion & Britney Spears & Mischa Barton & Kim Kardashian

I know I woke up thinking, “there just aren’t enough celebrity-created clothing lines!” If you had the same waking thoughts, despair no more. ANOTHER “The Hills” star is adding her name to the never-ending list of “stars” who think their celebrity must make them good fashion designers.

Whitney Port will be launching her line - called Eve & A - this fall. The collection will be made up of convertible dresses, tops and jackets that will wholesale for $40 to $250.

But - the real kicker is who will be backing the line. Her father’s apparel company Swarm. If that read more ....

Estee goes Earthy

Posted under fashion

Estee Lauder is trying something new. After years of being a good ol’ stand-by brand, they’re trying something to get their name out there again by introducing a new scent. Yes, we know it seems like an odd, tired way to try and gain more popularity, but I think  they’re hoping that their take on a new fragrance will draw people back in.

Gwenyth Paltrow will be the face of Sensuous - a scent that is not going to rely on the typical flowery undertones that womens’ fragrances so often employs.

The company is going “into the woods” as WWD.com read more ....

R-Bils pairs with DKNY Denim

Posted under fashion & Rachel Bilson

High fashion must be scraping the bottom of the barrel. DKNY is trying to get into the celeb marketing game - and they’ve picked Rachel Bilson to be their girl. Rachel is of course gorgeous is that cute little girl next door way, but I’ve never seen her as a fashion icon. Her choices are somewhat basic at best, more often than not.

Not only will she be used to sell the label, she’ll actually be creating her own line of denim for the company. I guess jeans aren’t a bad thing for this casual OC girl to be doing, read more ....

Kate Bosworth does China

Posted under fashion & Calvin Klein & Kate Bosworth & Kevin Spacey

Kate Bosworth is appearing in a new ad campaign for Coach - that’s set to appear only in China. The pictures were released today, online though, so I guess there are no true borders to advertising, any more.

kate 2.jpg

It’s only three months into the year, and Kate’s already making quite a mark. In January, she appeared on her first Vouge cover - talking about her love with Orlando, her friends and life in the limelight. Then, she signed for a Calvin Klein ad campaign:

She’s also starring in an upcoming movie with Kevin Spacey. If this is how the read more ....

Isla Fisher Channels 27 Dresses

Posted under fashion

My first thought was, “What IS that?!”

Thankfully, gorgeous Isla is not serious about this dress - it’s simply wardrobe choice from her latest movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic. In this particular scene, she’s playing a bridesmaid - in a dress that makes just about anything worn by Katherine Heigl’s character in 27 dresses look tame.

Joan Cusack will also star in the movie - playing Isla’s character’s mother.

Charlize Rocks Charcoal

Posted under fashion & Charlize Theron

I’ve never gotten what the big deal is about Charlize Theron. Of course, she’s attractive - but “Maxim’s Sexiest Woman Alive” attractive? Not so much. Then I saw her rockin this look:

It makes me want to yell out to Hollywood starlets, “SEE! You CAN look sexy, glam, AND classy!  It’s OK to leave something to the imagination!” This dress barely shows any cleavage and is down to her knees, but there’s something so alluring about this charcoal look Charlize opted for at the Hollywood premier of her new movie “Sleepwalking.”

The platform sandals, perfect pout and sexy bedhead definitely read more ....

Cate Blachett’s Face, Front & Center!

Posted under fashion & accessories & beauty & Cate Blanchett

cate_blanchett.jpg

Cate Blanchett is featured in this month’s issue of Allure talking about her gorgeous skin and - as the magazine puts it - “if there were an Oscar for Best Skin, Cate would win.” In the article, she talks about how hard it was for her - growing up in Australia - to have such pale coloring in the midst of all the kids who were always surfing and swimming. Now that pale complexion is paying off - as her peers down under are probably facing skin cancer!

So how does this derma-Diva keep her skin so smooth, even, and read more ....

Truly, Madly, Chloe Sevigny!

Posted under fashion & Chloe Sevigny

chloe.jpg

I know Chloe Sevigny was famous long before her role on Big Love, but for some reason she’ll always be a dowdy, long-haired, Amish-looking sister-wife in my mind. Which is why it’s hard for me to see her as a fashion plate, or really agree with statements she’s made, like, “the public has embraced me as a fashion icon.”

Never the less, she does have some impressive ad campaigns behind her - from Miu Miu to touting the Chloe fragrance - and her most recent, the face of Samsonite’s new Black Label luggage line. SassyBella reports:

” Sevigny will read more ....

Disney, Meet Couture

Posted under fashion & Quincy Jones

Actress Kidada Jones - daughter of Quincy Jones - also doubles as a jewelry designer, and she’s got a new line worth checking out. I’ve typically been one to think that anything Disney on anyone over 12 is a little childish and excessive - so I admit I was skeptical when I saw that Kidada’s new line of couture jewelry would be focusing on Disney characters.

In an odd way these flirty little princess bracelets are subtle, sweet and something I might actually wear! Especially if I got one of the ones featuring Tinkerbell - my fave Disney character. Here’s read more ....

Paris in the … ’80’s?

Posted under fashion & Mischa Barton

I know I just wrote about Mischa, but I had to bring up this recent escapade:

That’s Mischa and Milla Jovovich doing Paris Fashion Week as if it were 1985. We know, we know, fashion recycles, and yes, it’s Paris - the land where (almost) anything goes. And if we had our choice over the REAL 80’s and Mischa’s version, we’d probably choose Mischa - after all, she didn’t go for big hair. But Paris Fashion Week is the time to REALLY show your fashion chops!

You’ve been a bit misguided as of late, Mischa, and while this isn’t the read more ....
