AIDS benefit showcases several seasons

Posted under fashion & celebrities & Lanvin & Tilda Swinton

In keeping with a 21st century theme of a fast-paced life, the clothes on the pre-fall runways in Paris were seen “in action” on celebs at an AIDS benefit mere days later. But since fashion seasons also move at the speed of the 21st century, there was some seasonal confusion. Tilda Swinton was sporting a gold lame pre-fall gown from Lanvin, while Alek Wek showed up in Dior pre-spring, Daria Werbowy in Balmain from the spring runway.

Roberto Cavalli debuted is pre-fall line recently, and a number of stars turned up to show appreciation for the designer. I know, it seems like the string of fashion shows are never ending, and with pre-season lines launching, the clothes we’re seeing are almost for a full year ahead!

The Spice Girls gave the fashion guru a huge thanks - Cavalli designed the costumes for their recent reunion tour. He relied heavily on bright Swarovski-beaded silk, and came up with outfits that stayed true to the original style of the girl group.
