Sienna’s a Hot Mess

Posted under fashion

sienmess.jpg

Sienna Miller has a lot more in common with the character of Edie Sedgewick than she thinks; Miller was seen as a hot mess after the Notting Hill launch of her debut fashion line Twenty8Twelve. Looks like he gal had way too many “celebratory” drinks that night…with the help of her new BFF, Rhys Ifans, says The Daily Mail.

The factory girl and her new pal put another wild and crazy night under their belts, as they stumbled back to Miller’s home at 3:30am “looking bleary-eyed and worse for fear,” say reporters. That’s British for “sloshed and kinda fugly.”

Fashion Fighting Racism

Posted under fashion

We know David Beckham is a fashion icon – probably due in part to his wife, the true fashion mogul of the family. But Becks seems more like the uber-trendy exception to the anything goes, rough-and-tumble world of sports. Yes, sports stars are always creating seemingly endless lines of footwear, and their fans sport their jerseys religiously. But is that really fashion? We think not.

However, a new sports-star-turned-philanthropist-by-way-of-fashion-designer is emerging from the sweaty heap. And to prove he’s legit, he’s teamed up with designer Tommy Hilfiger.

Heidi Hearts Jordache

Posted under fashion

jordache jeans blog1.jpgFor any babies of the 80’s – or anyone who remembers Jordache as the “IT” jean of decades past - you’ll be able to appreciate the somewhat stagnated brand’s attempt to re-invent themselves. And who better as their poster child than supermodel-turned mom-turned-TV host, Heidi Klum? Jordache is getting their dibs on the skinny jean – albeit maybe a bit late – and using the fashionista mom to kick-start their campaign post-Jennifer Love Hewitt.

While the ads are brining Jordache up on the trends, their also harkening back to the 1979 campaign which was banned by major television networks for read more ....

Paris Pursues Fashion - and charity for all

Posted under fashion

Is Paris’ dream of having a fashion line right up there with her dream of having her own reality show? her own horror movie? Her own drunk driving escapade/rehab/jail stint? Sex tape? Whatever her true motivation for launching a new clothing line (dollar signs anyone?), she’s sure to do it up, Paris-style, just like she has with all of the above-mentioned forays.

The socialite launched her line this month at the trendy L.A. staple of the young, hot, rich and famous: Kitson. One major, notable difference between the launch and the beginning to some of Paris’ other “stunts” - this read more ....

Paris Causes Another Frenzy…Over Clothes?

Paris at Kitsons.jpgParis Hilton, the reality-starlet, singer, model, and now designer? Yes, I said designer! The heiress decided to unveil her very own clothing line on Thursday at an upscale boutique in Los Angeles. Hilton’s appearance caused such an uproar that the police, and city officials, had to be called in to handle the situation, according to NBC5. They even closed a traffic lane down for this event.

Wow, I wish when I made appearances around the country, and the world, that I would cause frenzies; people would be crazed and then the police and officials would read more ....

Lingerie Awards Celebrate Fundamentals

Posted under fashion

lingerie blog.jpgNowadays, we give awards for just about everything - actors, films, music videos, fashion, people who think they can sing (American Idol), models, people who think they can dance (that’s pretty self explanatory). And the list goes on and on. One of the most recent awards ceremonies - the lingerie awards - brought out some little known designers to represent some of the lesser appreciated items women put on every day. And if you think about it, it probably makes a little more sense than making a wannabe singer from the Midwest, the next big sensation.
The awards were read more ....

Affordable Celeb Clothing? Part 2

Posted under fashion

jessica simpson blog.jpgLast week we touched on the reality of being able to dress like a celebrity - or rather, actually beinig able to afford wearing clothes the stars design.

When celebs launch a line they almost always say something about how it reflects their personal style - and mention something about how they hope it’ll give fans a chance to put on their personal pieces. Not that celebrities are known for the down-to-earth factor, but how realistic is that statement? Are these fab styles cost prohibitive for the average adoring fan? Tuesday we mentioned fashionable lines for discount retailer Steve and read more ....

Fancy Panties

You’ve heard of The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammies, even The Razzies… but did you know there’s an awards show for undies?

lingerie3.jpg

Of course, only a yokel American would call them “undies!” To the sophisticated European woman, lingerie is not merely the icing on the cake but the very foundation – nay, the most essential element - of a fabulous, complete wardrobe.

With that in mind, Contours Magazine presented the 2nd Annual Contours International Lingerie Awards (CILA) in the Grand Ballroom of the NYC’s Waldorf Astoria last week. And of course we were there to oogle!

Participating companies included read more ....

Affordable Celeb Clothing: Oxymoron?

Posted under fashion

Kate and Vick

Alas, though we may flip longlingly through Vogue, In Style, W, and all the mags that depict star style, actually dressing like a celeb is a pretty pricey proposition. We are after all talking about people with endless resources to squander on their “favorite,” “reasonable” t-shirt (often to the tune of $70 and up).

But let’s talk the looks celebs are designing themselves. It would seem that a big market for these duds would be their fans, who theoretically want to look like their favorite superstar (while the big bucks in Hollywood already are their own superstars). But this begs read more ....

Lindsay Is Responsible

Posted under fashion

Lindsay Elle

Looks like more backpedaling is in store for Lindsay Lohan. The new issue of Elle Magazine includes some choice quotes from the star including, “They’re looking for me, to like trip, so they can be like, ‘Oh Lindsay’s wasted and driving drunk.’ And that’s not it. I wouldn’t violate … I’m much more responsible than that.”

In actuality the drinking is a concern, but when hitting the roads I’m more inclined to fear the coked up high-speed car chases with total disregard for red lights and pedestrians. The public interest, the press, the paparazzi: they are all invited by someone read more ....
