With a look reminiscent of Medusa, Drew Barrymore is preparing to make the rounds promoting her latest movie, Grey Gardens, which is set to make its premiere on HBO this Saturday and which sees Drew starring alongside actress Jessica Lange in the riches-to-rags story of two charming eccentrics who were relatives of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.

But Drew’s latest hair style seems to be catching the eye of the paps far more than the movie itself as the 34 year old arrived at the New York studio’s of ABC to make an appearance on the Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa show this week.
Wanting to keep her role in the movie as close to realistic as possible, Drew told Regis and Kelly she was so determined to get the role she promised director/writer Michael Sucsy: ‘I will do everything in my power not to disappoint you.’ So in order to fully feel the character, Drew says she didn’t talk on a mobile phone, watch television or read or listen to anything that her character, Little Edie, hadn’t seen or heard. She continued, ‘I went into a total monastery and didn’t speak to any friends for three months.’

The new up-do adopted by the E.T. star has made several appearances of late with Kellie Pickler choosing the style to accompany her tartan army look at the 7th Annual
Dressed to Kilt charity show and Christina Aguilera’s snake effect hair do that has since been seen as somewhat of a disaster.
However, we do have instructions for anyone who wishes to get the Barrymore look:
Part the hair at the front - in a side-parting - into three sections and braid. Section the back of the hair into smaller sections and loosely braid into plaits which can be pinned to form the Medusa style up-do. If you haven’t got a Hollywood hairdresser around, ask a friend for assistance.
