The pairing of fashion and 4th of July take me back to last fall’s  Italian Vogue huge, GI-themed spread.

The photos - like this one - are gorgeously artistic and patriotic, if not a little decadent and racy. But hey, it’s Italian Vogue, and it’s festive of them to pay homage to our country. Or maybe they’re actually poking fun at us - by portraying gorgeous, uniformed - and un-uniformed - men and women in artistic (if not somewhat compromising) positions. We prefer to think of it as artistic.

The 4th of July is often regarded as a send-off into summer. And one star is embracing the season’s festive colors, looks, and styles with a spread in LA Direct magazine.

Lauren Conrad is gracing the cover of the mag and flaunting summery blond hair, eye-popping yellow, fun flowers and a few other looks. And she gets into the nitty-gritting of her rise to fame, saying, “I always say this isn’t what I signed up for. I thought I signed up for a one-episode documentary.”

The normally slim, chic and to some extent, tarty, ex judge of American Idol has morphed into the ‘mother-in-law from hell‘ to be!

Wearing a frumpy, floral print, ankle length, button through, granny style dress, Osbourne certainly wont be making it to any of Hollywood’s best dressed celebs list this year.

But take a look at Kelly! What a difference a year and a snog makes.

I’ve written before about Jennifer Garner’s relaxed (somewhat drab) style, but she’s been stepping it up a notch lately.

She’s still opting for more muted colors and tried and true combinations, but we love seeing her in flirty dresses and summer sandals. She actually looked somewhat dressed up as she and Violet got some sunshine in LA yesterday.
Haven’t been seeing a lot of the whole family lately, as husband, Ben Affleck,was off in Vegas gambling for charity, we’ll be eager to see if they’re all together for a happy, festive 4th of July!

We don’t know what to focus on here. Katie Holme’s revised, shortened haircut - or the fact that her daughter is playing with a $100 bill! I mean, do celebs do these things on purpose? Seems like they’re just asking for scrutiny and mockery when you let your kid play with ANY amount of cash, much less a $100 bill. And seriously, who carries around a $100 bill any more?

When you think about it, a football player owes a lot to his feet. And one football star apparently feels he owes a lot to his wife - and expressed that by treating HER feet.

Houston Texans offensive tackle Ephraim Salaam surprised his wife, Reneece, with a shopping spree at Christian Louboutin in Beverly Hills for her birthday.
Reneece, who arrived at the store with three girlfriends, was lavished with French pastries, Champagne, sparkling water — and a $20,000 spending spree, which Salaam had arranged with the store management.

Leave it to a star to announce her penmanship plans at a couture show. But that’s exactly what Patricia Arquette did at the Chanel show this week, saying, “It’s based on my daughter, Harlow Jane.”

The star, who plays the mother in “Boyhood,” a 12-year-long film project by director Richard Linklater, was also direct about the aging that takes place over a decades-plus-long shooting schedule.  “We shoot for a week each year. It’s about kids growing up. They age on film and so do I,” said Arquette.

We still think she looks pretty good!

Paris fashion week even brought out the likes of rapper Kanye West - whose street style sense may seem somewhat out of place at couture shows, but he begs to differ, saying,
“I’m here for Louis.”

Wow - to be on first-name terms with a fashion great like that, you really have to know the right people! And apparently Kanye does. He went on to say that he’s collaborating on a men’s shoes line for the brand. Looks like Liv Tyler wanted some relative down time and opted to take in a few couture shows with her sis - who’s studying music.

After a busy week promoting “The Incredible Hulk” and “The Strangers,” Liv said she wanted some quality family time: “Tomorrow is my birthday,” said the actress at the Christian Dior show Monday. “Being together is a big celebration, and you can’t get any bigger than Paris.”

Elsewhere in the front row of the show, Eva Mendes said she’d been working on a remake of George Cukor’s 1939 film “The Women.”

It pays to photograph celebrities. Photographer Nick Knight is having some of his fashion friends play the role of DJ for a few hours during a series of parties he’s throwing next week.

The DJing will take place live on his showstudio.com website. The project - named Fashion Deejays, is being hosted in conjuction with Swarovski.

Fashion greats like Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Naomi Campbell and Giles Deacon hitting the decks over three days.
